Submit your vote once per day!The Security 101® -Charlotte 2019 Gift of Security online voting period begins at 12:00 a.m. EST on November 19th, 2018 and you may cast your vote(s) for one of the elected nonprofit organizations listed in the voting module here, where all votes will be collected and stored. An individual will be allowed to cast one vote every 24 hours during the voting period which will last until midnight EST on December 10th, 2018. Please note that in the event a duplicate vote is successfully made within the same 24-hour period, it shall be deemed invalid and will not be included in the final count.
Mission is to provide hope and healing for those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. We do this through a variety of programs and services: 24 hour sexual assault/rape and domestic violence crisis lines, safety planning for survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and child abuse, shelter for survivors of domestic violence, hospital accompaniment for survivors of sexual assault/rape (24/7), Individual, couples and family counseling as well as play therapy for children, Legal representation by pro-bono attorneys for domestic violence survivors and many more services.
Children & Family Services is a consortium of partner agencies, dedicated to eradicating poverty in the Charlotte area. This innovative partnership of community resources enables these agencies to work together to improve the lives of children and families in our community. The non-profit agencies that share space in the Children & Family Services Center serve more than 198,600 children and families annually in Mecklenburg County and across the state. Mission: Improving the lives of children and families through an innovative partnership of community resources that promotes strong families and advocates for change.
Gracious Hands Transitional Housing is a 501c-3 certified non-profit partnership originally founded by two teen mothers who would have been homeless with their children if it hadn't been for the support and help of others. Gracious Hands is committed to changing the world, one family at a time by providing temporary shelter while educating, encouraging, and empowering women with children to attain a brighter future economically, socially and spiritually. Services include transitional housing, life skills training, and therapy( personal and family counseling).
