Christmas is the time of year where families get together, spend time and often exchange gifts. Unfortunately, there are families that endure hardships during these festive times. A school teacher often gets a child’s view of these hardships ranging from losses of parents, to losing their homes. Upon hearing of an opportunity to make a child’s day even slightly better, the local offices in South Florida as well as Tampa started the annual Holiday Toy Drive in 2018.

This is Security 101 - Fort Lauderdale’s second year conducting the Holiday Toy Drive where collection boxes were setup in the Fort Lauderdale and Miami offices. Employees dropped off new unwrapped toys in the boxes leading up to the company's annual holiday party. The collection boxes were then taken to Westchester Elementary in Coral Springs, where Felipe Betances’ wife Aly is the science teacher. With the help of Aly, School Counselor Myra Brahms and the Westchester PTA—the gifts are distributed.

“We would like to thank Mr. Betances and your company for the wonderful gifts the employees collected and donated to Westchester Elementary’s annual Giving Tree. We have so many needy families and through their caring efforts we were able to support 16 families (about 40 students) at our school. These gifts were provided to students and children of all age levels, so they can have a nice holiday this year. Thank you again, words cannot say how grateful and thankful we are for the support of the amazing gifts your company and it's employees donated!”

“Thank you so much to our Westchester families, our banner partners, Security 101, and Sawgrass Springs National Honor Society for donating to the Giving Tree this year! Your generosity is inspiring!”
