Security 101 – Chicago is now recruiting a Lead Commercial Electronic Security Technician that has experience installing and programming commercial electronic security devices primarily Video Systems, Access Control, IP Cameras, Intrusion Detection, Video Analytics, IP network systems and overall security systems.

Salary:

Hourly wage varies from $38.00 to $45.00, non-exempt, commensurate with skills, product knowledge and experience.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have a 100% understanding of the commercial electronic security industry as related to Card Access Systems and Cameras.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience installing, and programming commercial access control, IP-based video systems and intrusion alarm systems.
  • Build programming sheets to allow proper input of data when constructing the panel information within the database.
  • Enter credentials, individuals, access groups, zones, areas, and/or building full enterprise solutions with multiple locations are a must.
  • Understanding cable types and what cables are needed for what devices.
  • Must be process oriented, with good communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with the internet and networking is essential.
  • Must be able to work independently and resolve problems to our customer’s satisfaction.
  • Must possess a valid driving license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing, troubleshooting, programming, and testing enterprise security systems with minimal supervision.
  • System knowledge of access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion, and visitor management, preferred.
  • Install/Service security cameras, recorders, access control devices and intrusion systems.
  • Be organized and ready for anything that comes our way.

Education:

  • High School (or GED) minimum requirement
  • Electronics training from a Technical School or Military training in electronics or communications (preferred)
