We are often asked "Why the name Security
101®, doesn't that seem kind of basic?" Yes,
it does. The premise of logistical security hasn't
changed since the beginning of time:
The technology we use to provide these basic
requirements most certainly has changed over
the years and will continue to do so for the
foreseeable future. What does not change are
the fundamental "blocking and tackling" of
our industry.
During the Middle Ages, an assigned post atop
the castle wall was responsible for detecting
any possible threat. The moat was established
to deter or deny access to the castle, and the
ability to report on this information was again
provided by the individual atop the castle walls.
I know this seems very basic, but it speaks to
the fundamental basics of security.
We want to make sure the implementation
of physical security standards meets these basic
criteria. If we forget what the basic needs
are in the first place, we would design very
sophisticated over-priced showcases that provide
very little of what the ordinal intent was. Our
approach is very simple: let's start with the
basics -- it's 101. After we determine what it
is we are trying to accomplish, we can then apply
the appropriate technology, lending ease of operation
as well as expeditious documentation. |
